Keeping The Roundhouse Connected From Day One

Reliable technology to support The Roundhouse, its team, and the community it serves.

When The Roundhouse opened in January 2024, Braddan Commissioners needed technology they could rely on from the start. As a modern community building, the site needed to support public internet access, CCTV connectivity, and dependable day-to-day IT for the Commissioners’ office.

RED5 Systems was involved during the build, working with Braddan Commissioners to shape the network around how the building would be used in practice. By advising on network point placement and infrastructure requirements early on, we helped lay the groundwork for a smooth opening and a more reliable long-term setup that could keep adapting as the building’s use developed.

The Challenge

The Roundhouse needed more than a basic connection. It had to support a busy public-facing environment while also providing secure, stable connectivity for office operations and the handling of important public information.

That meant getting the infrastructure right from the beginning, with strong coverage, dependable performance, and the flexibility to support different parts of the building without adding complexity for the team using it every day.

Our Solution

RED5 worked closely with Braddan Commissioners to design and deliver the core connectivity for the building. Our role included:

  • Managed Wi Fi across the site.
  • Managed Firewall Services to protect the network.
  • Network infrastructure for public access, CCTV, and office operations.
  • Ongoing IT provision for the Braddan Commissioners offices using Microsoft 365.
  • Ongoing support and call outs when required.

From the outset, our focus was on making sure the technology supported the building quietly and effectively, while giving the team confidence that help was there when needed.

Supporting Events

Our relationship with Braddan Commissioners has continued well beyond the initial setup. When The Roundhouse was preparing to host a sporting competition, RED5 implemented additional internet bandwidth to cope with the extra demand.

Delivered during the busy Christmas period, this helped the venue get ready for a high-profile event without added pressure on the team. It is a good example of the kind of practical, responsive support that matters when timings are tight and the building needs to perform at its best.

The Outcome

The Roundhouse now has a secure and reliable technology foundation that supports its public spaces, operational systems, and office-based services.

Just as importantly, Braddan Commissioners have an IT partner who understands the site, knows how it operates, and continues to support them as their needs evolve. With RED5 looking after the technology behind the scenes, their team can stay focused on running the building and serving the community.
